After the fallout of Blair and Serena's fight, the girls, along with Dan, Nate and Chuck visit Blair's dream - Yale University. When Blair makes a snide comment about Serena's choice to go to Brown University, Serena decides to get even with Blair, who has always dreamed of going to Yale, by visiting Yale instead of Brown. The Dean of Yale wants to capitalize on Serena's recent bout of fame and invites her to a private party at his residence, leading the two girls to fight yet again.
Meanwhile, Dan discovers that none of his recommendation letters for Yale were sent and tries to figure out a way of getting into the school. Chuck impresses the members of the private club Skull and Bones but angers Nate when he tries to get even with Dan for his story. In the end, though Serena and Blair reconcile, Nate develops a new friendship with Dan, this upsets Chuck who is still angered by Dan's writing.
