After the fallout of Blair and Serena's fight, the girls, along with Dan, Nate and Chuck visit Blair's dream - Yale University. When Blair makes a snide comment about Serena's choice to go to Brown University, Serena decides to get even with Blair, who has always dreamed of going to Yale, by visiting Yale instead of Brown. The Dean of Yale wants to capitalize on Serena's recent bout of fame and invites her to a private party at his residence, leading the two girls to fight yet again.

Meanwhile, Dan discovers that none of his recommendation letters for Yale were sent and tries to figure out a way of getting into the school. Chuck impresses the members of the private club Skull and Bones but angers Nate when he tries to get even with Dan for his story. In the end, though Serena and Blair reconcile, Nate develops a new friendship with Dan, this upsets Chuck who is still angered by Dan's writing.

Gossip Girl- The Serena Also Rises (2x05)

In the midst of Fashion Week, a furious Blair learns that her mother, Eleanor, at the suggestion of her protege Jenny, has given Serena and her new socialite friend, Poppy Lifton, front row seats to the Eleanor Waldorf Fashion Show. Hurt once again by Serena's popularity and her mother's betrayal, Blair decides to sabotage the show. Meanwhile, Dan starts hanging out with Chuck, but Dan learns the hard way that a walk on the dark side has many risks. Lily discovers a secret that her new husband Bart has been keeping from her.

Dan: Has he always been like that?

Chuck: Since the day I was born.

Dan: Ah, that's crazy. Even Bart Bass doesn't hate babies. It's, uh, it's in our DNA. I think Disney did a study.

It's the night of Blair's party and a city-wide blackout leads to indiscretions and revelations. Serena and Dan accidentally trap themselves in an elevator eventually leading them to split again after discussing on how Serena gets privileges for being a van der Woodsen, which Dan considers completely unfair.

Marcus refuses to have sex with Blair, giving Chuck an opening to seduce Blair. Meanwhile, Nate struggles with his feelings for Vanessa and loyalty to his family by sleeping with Catherine.

In the end, Nate chooses Vanessa, but she rejects him after Catherine threatens to tell the FBI about the whereabouts of the Captain. Nate is horrified (and still ignorant about why Vanessa is leaving) but Vanessa is sure it is for the best.

Jenny ius working on Waldorf Designs but a comment she does gets overheard by Eleanor herself and she gets fired. During the blackout, Jenny helps Eleanor fix a dress (as it looked like a "pilgrim in a funeral") and gets re-hired.

Marcus finally says that he wants to be with Blair and shows it by kissing her in front of everyone just as Chuck is walking down the stairs and brushing past the girl he loves.

Gossip Girl-Never Been Marcused(2x02)

Blair is over the moon that she is dating royalty and ha every intention of becoming a royal herself, but a scheming Chuck has other plans for Blair and her new love, Marcus. Serena and Dan agree to keep their recent hook-ups a secret from their friends and family until they figure out what all this means for their relationship. Meanwhile, Nate learns the downside to having an affair with an older, married woman.

Jenny interns for Eleanor's company and manages to sneak in to an exclusive white party with help from Eric who then introduces her socialite Tinsley Mortimer.

Blair Waldorf: Enough about the past, before you landed in my bed we actually landed on a good idea. 

Chuck Bass: Well I trust you can take it from here, I have a best man's speech to write and no time to write it. 

Blair Waldorf: Don't worry, I can be bitch enough for both of us. 

Chuck Bass: I still have the scars on my back to prove it. 

[Blairs starts pushing him out the door]

Chuck Bass: [Chuck about to give his best man speech] My father is someone who goes after what he wants and Lily van der Wooden was no exception. A typical Bass man fashion, his pursuit was direct and at times, not exactly subtle. One thing I've learned through my father's courtship of Lily is the importance of perseverance, that in the face of true love you don't just give up - even if the object of your affection is begging you to. And one thing I've learned from Lily, is the importance of forgiveness. She gave my father the gift of a second chance and in kind I've watched them become someone actually worthy of that gift. And one day I hope I'll be lucky enough to find someone who'll do the same for me. To the happy couple!

As a result of Georgina revealing the true reason that Serena fled Manhattan for boarding school, Serena falls back into her old habits and Blair, Nate and Chuck must put their complicated feelings for each other aside to help their friend. Unfortunately, Serena is too ashamed to share the truth with Dan, leaving him only to assume the worse about his girlfriend. Rufus is thrilled when his band is invited to perform at a Rolling Stone-sponsored concert, but Lily is the last person on earth he expects to see at the performance, especially since her wedding rehearsal dinner is the same night.

Blair Waldorf: You had just broken my hear. I made a decision I was in no condition to make. 

Nate Archibald: But your clear-headed now right? 

Blair Waldorf: Yes. 

Nate Archibald: You understand perfectly when I say I want nothing else to do with you Blair. You and Chuck deserve each other. 

Blair Waldorf: You know Chuck would say anything, twist the truth. 

Nate Archibald: But Jenny wouldn't. 

Blair Waldorf: Jenny? 

Nate Archibald: And don't go blaming any of this on her Blair. I would've found out eventually. I said I'm done. It's over. Now would you please leave. 

[Blair just stands there]

Nate Archibald: [Nate comes up to Chuck and throws him on the limo] Did you sleep with her huh? You son of a bitch I would've killed you!

Chuck Bass: Yes Nathaniel! I took what Blair kept throwing at you and you kept throwing back!
